Mike Wilson – Artistic Creation Award 2013


Mike Wilson holds a degree in Hispanic Literature (2000), a Masters degree in Literature (2005), and a Ph.D. in Literature from Cornell University (2007). He has been a professor in the Faculty of Arts since 2002. At the young age of 39, he has written four novels: ‘El púgil’ (Forja, 2008), ‘Zombie’ (Alfaguara, 2009), ‘Rockability’ (Alfaguara, 2011), and ‘Leñador’ (Orjik, 2013). His work has been enthusiastically received by both the general public and specialized critics, earning him three literary awards. In addition to his role as an evaluator of projects and a judge in literary competitions, Professor Wilson has been involved in several research projects and has published articles in various journals, as well as giving multiple media interviews.

The recognition, the ‘Award for Excellence in Artistic Creation,’ presented by the Direction of Arts and Culture of the Vice Presidency of Research, was decided by a jury composed of National Prize winners Juan Pablo Izquierdo, Óscar Hahn, Juan Radrigán, and Fernando González, along with writer Álvaro Bisama.
